Vietnam Navy (Hải Quân Việt Nam) originated from the French Navy in 1952. Following the 1954 Elysee Accords, France transferred control of its armed forces to Vietnam but maintained command of the navy until 1955 at the request of the Vietnamese government. This pendant is based on the navy emblem in 1954. In order to fit the pendant's shape, size, and color, some elements of the original emblem were changed and/or omitted.
