Chim Lạc is a mythological bird found on the bronze drums of ancient Vietnamese culture called Đông Sơn (aka Lạc Việt). It is believed that the Lạc bird guided ancient Vietnamese to the new land during their migration from ancient China to Vietnam. There is no consensus as to what bird it represents. It has been suggested that it is a crane, while others have said that it is a completely imaginary bird. Consequently, its name "Lạc" can also be translated as "Lost", indicating that it is a legendary bird that has been lost over time.
