History:

Kim Bài (lit. Golden Badge) refers to an accessory item worn by mandarins (bureaucrats) and royalty of the Nguyễn Dynasty. They can be made from a variety of materials such as gold, gemstones, animal bones, or wood. Nobles and officials were awarded high-valued badges, which served as service medals, identification tags, and entry passes. Emperors and other royalties would wear ones displaying their personal regnal names, titles, mottos, or poetic expressions.

Product Details:
Our badges are made from wood or acrylic. The historical dragon frame was reproduced from the golden badge titled Cơ Mật Đại Thần (Grand Officer of the Secret Institute), worn by a senior mandarin of the privy council. Other graphics are purely our modern creations. Our badges are laser-cut, painted by hand, and coated with a gloss protective finish. They are highly customizable for any occasion and are best worn with áo dài. Nonetheless, it is also elegant when worn with western suits as seen historically by French colonial officials. When ordering, be sure to pay attention to the customizable options. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or requests regarding this order.
